My arts practice focuses on the interdependent relationship between emotional and physical wellbeing. My interests in how to visually articulate experiences as a means to develop understanding and voice are increasingly utilising new technologies in combination with physically crafted objects made using traditional skills. In tandem, I am passionate about creating visual narratives informed by bioethical discourses on end of life care in the articulation of patient narratives as they live through the process of dying. Communication and engagement are key threads throughout my all areas of my working practices. As Associate Head of Belfast School of Art, Ulster University my pedagogical research and practice focuses on the construction of value-based praxis in Higher Education learning and teaching.
