Miss Ashley Foster-Estwick has completed postgraduate training in International Relations with International Law and Health Sciences Research. Her areas of expertise are qualitative research and project administration. She currently serves as a Research Coordinator at George Alleyne Chronic Disease Research Centre (GA-CDRC) for a Food and Nutrition (FaN) project funded by the Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC). 

In addition to her post at the GA-CDRC Ashley contributes to the advocacy efforts of the Women Deliver Alumni for the Latin American and Caribbean region and she is a Young Leader for the My Mind Our Humanity global mental health campaign.

Damian Juma is co-founder of #mymindourhumanity, a global mental health campaign, as well as Mental Health- Unveiling the Mask and We Live for Us, both youth-led and driven initiatives in Kenya. He holds a BSc. in Medical Psychology from the School of Medicine, Moi University and is a young mental health professional in Mombasa, Kenya. He is also on a number of national and international Mental Health Youth Advisory Boards. He looks forward to learning more about global mental health and research. 


CHANTELLE BOOYSEN

Independent Consultant & Youth Advocate for My Mind Our Humanity

Chantelle is a global mental health advocate and social impact entrepreneur based in Durban, South Africa. She works as an Independent Consultant and Advisor to local and international organisations, focusing on creating evidence and solutions to support the mental health and wellbeing of young people. Some of her work also focuses on addressing unemployment caused by mental health conditions in the workplace.

Currently, she represents the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) KZN as Project Manager; WHO Civil Society Working Group for NCDs; The Lancet Commission on Global Mental Health as Youth Advocate;  Wellcome Trust as Independent Advisor; KZN Provincial Technical Advisory Committee on Mental Health as Board Member, among others.

Chantelle is also the Creator and Curator of the Empathy & Hope Project, a travelling social awareness art exhibition that facilitates critical discussions around mental health and our environments. She has a keen interest in Law and Policy and obtained an International Diploma in Mental Health, Human Rights and Law from the Indian Law Society (ILS) in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the first author on a Policy Brief on Youth Mental Health published on Mental Health Innovation Network and the Lancet Commission on Global Mental Health.
