LYRICAL KOMBAT Workshop
Leaders: Tunde Olatunji, LYRICAL KOMBAT, UK & Alex “Mechanikool” Peters, Dancer, LYRICAL KOMBAT, UK.
Summary: LYRICAL KOMBAT’s mission is to use hip hop and technology to improve the wellbeing of young people; for us everyone can be young it is a state of mind. We started with literacy but our next app will be focused on dance and movement. Through body popping we aim to be a catalyst for people to develop psychologically and physically.
The workshop will be led by Tunde Olatunji and Alex “Mechanikool” Peters. The aim of the workshop is to stimulate thoughts, share a vision on health and technology and (hopefully) have some fun while doing so.
Part of the workshop would be an interactive section lead by Alex, who has been a street dancer for 20 years. The specific style is known as Popping. The intention is to provide a first hand experience of the benefits of physical movement through dance as well and the positive social and emotional impact it delivers. Not to be alarmed though, this is not an attempt to discreetly seek out Britain’s next hidden dance talent!! It’s merely to provide some context for the experience we hope Lyrical Combat can provide through the knowledge of dance and use of technology.
We are excited to share our expertise with you and look forward to what will come from the workshop and the discussions to follow.
