Alan Turley is the Chair of the Financial Inclusion Group for North Staffordshire (Covering Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme) known locally as the FIG. The FIG was established around 2009 by A.T. when working for Stoke City Council. The FIG is a registered charity (Reg.No. 1188839) as of 31.03 2020. Alan is also a member of the Stoke-on-Trent Hardship Commission and currently acting as the lead on Child Poverty for Stoke on Trent City Council’s Children and Young People’s Partnership.

Work Experience: Food retailing – All aspects. Supermarket manager aged 21yrs.(Tesco). Worked for a freezer food company for 13 years, and ran own food retail business for seven years. Covered all roles from Trainee, Manager. Area and then Regional Mgr. Head of Training, Marketing, Purchasing and Sales - most at national level. Contract Manager then senior manager at Regional Training and Enterprise Company (Arms Length Govt.body). Head of Economic Development Warrington B.C. and M.D. of Warrington 2000+ (Public/ Private Partnership). Set up business incubator for the emerging Wireless Telecoms sector (c.2002). Director of the Enterprise and Innovation Group of the North West Regional Development Agency. Director of the Local Strategic Partnership. Stoke on Trent.(City Council, Health Trust, Police and Fire Services and Voluntary and Community Sectors – Joint working groups).Now retired (8 years)!
