Gerry Craigen

Dr. Gerry Craigen is a psychiatrist with a full-time private practice in Toronto. He graduated from Queen’s University in Kingston, and completed his residency in Toronto. Prior to medical school, he completed a law degree at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Craigen is an Associate Staff Psychiatrist at the University Health Network. For decades, he has been teaching medical legal issues and bioethics, at the postgraduate and undergraduate levels at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine, where he is Assistant Professor and an award winning educator. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law. He also is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and the American College of Psychiatrists. He is an executive member of the Canadian Medical Protective Association where he is the second Vice President elect.
Dr. Craigen’s research interests are in data ethics and digital mental health. He has published in peer-reviewed journals.
