Dr. Ran Barzilay
Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania and a Child Adolescent Psychiatrist at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
He recently received a K23 Career Development Award to launch his lab where he studies mechanisms of resilience to developmental stress in youths, through integration of multiple data including polyenvironmental exposures (exposome) and biological factors. He is especially interested in understanding variability in brain and behavior development in the face of stress, hoping to use this knowledge to divert the trajectory from risk to resilience. He is currently studying resilience factors and their impact on mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic.
